RACO

An agricultural plain devoted to the vine and bordering the Mediterranean, dotted with farmhouses, country houses and indiano houses, defines the scenic value of Sant Pere de Ribes.

An indiano house that has waited many years for its inhabitants, that speaks to us of economic and social hardships, and which—together with so many others—leaves a singular architectural mark within the urban and rural landscape of the town.

A house that, despite the many interventions it has undergone over the years, keeps its essence, marked above all by brick arches and a stone envelope that give the space character.

An old wine cellar on the ground floor, once surrounded by vineyards and today wedged between two trapezoidal courtyards. A spacious home with direct solar exposure on the first floor.

Finding it was discovering the space that was waiting for us to realize a dream. And opening the way to a time of reflections, conversations, debates, discussions, design.

Letting the atmosphere envelop us and adding our mark to the history of this space that crushed so many grapes

Nos identificamos con los indianos de aquella época. Nos emocionamos con sus historias. Entendemos a las generaciones posteriores que regresaron a su tierra después de aventuras por las Antillas.

Pero en este último siglo la dinámica familiar, social y laboral ha experimentado algunos cambios. Y la intervención que hacemos quiere reinterpretar este espacio de trabajo y vivienda de principios del siglo XX, en un espacio de trabajo y vivienda de principios del siglo XXI.

En planta baja, el antiguo espacio de producción y venta de vino se convertirá en producción y venta de arte y arquitectura.

En planta primera, la antigua vivienda para una gran familia se convertirá en dos apartamentos para una pareja y sus huéspedes llegados de distintas localizaciones geográficas.

Nos encanta hacer arquitectura de nueva planta, pero cuando encontramos Racó, nos pareció bien convertirnos en una especie de mediadores entre pasado y futuro, antes que violentar la magia de este pueblo. Aquí todo será anterior y todo será nuevo.

Establecer nuestro mundo, para seguir andando el camino: Echar raíces y elevar la mente.
