CASA BORN
Fluidity and luminosity.
Casa BORN is a small apartment of 50 m2, to which its owner had decided to return after a long absence.
The original geometry of the house, a U-shaped footprint with short and small legs, posed a challenge to meet the requirements of its owner.
For her the greatest luxury resided in SPACE, based on order, materialized from an exercise of purification that values emptiness as a form of spatial richness where to develop more fully: so we organized the floor from a large central space, where all the life of the house would occur, compartmentalizing only a laundry room (located in an appendix that was once an old terrace) and the bedroom that would occupy one of the legs of the U.
In order to achieve an interior space as large as possible, we resolved the kitchen in line, equipped with a large storage capacity (5m linear), camouflaging the door of the laundry room as if it were part of the same furniture, and practicing two large holes in its development: one landscape (where the work plane is resolved: sink, hob) and another vertical (framing the window facing the inner courtyard).
We enhance the spatial unity, unifying the floor with a wooden platform and painting all the walls in off-white.
The position of the bathroom allows a double function: as a courtesy toilet, and as an en suite bathroom.
The shower is part of the dressing room, and pivots between the bedroom and the toilet, and receives all the daylight by separating it from the main room with a sliding glass door.
Casa BORN is now much more luminous and fluid, favoring the relationships between spaces, almost without the need for doors.
